Pest Control
With B & R Pest Services you can play both defense and offense against the critters that crop up at different points in the year in your home, yard, and surrounding areas. In addition to planned visits, you can call and get a technician as needed. What’s more: They’ll keep coming back until your problem is solved.
Ants
Ant infestation is the most commonly reported pest problem. These tiny scavengers will enter your home or business looking for moisture and an accessible food source. Rotting or damp wood that is moldy can attract ants. Ants also feed on sugar, cheese, meats, vegetables, grease, peanut butter, and dead insects.
Mosquito Control
If it bites you, it bugs us. We treat the perimeter of your entire yard, working to reduce the number of mosquitoes on your property. B & R Services urges clients to protect themselves from mosquitoes and the serious diseases they can carry. Never cease to monitor your property for any standing water because mosquitoes need only a small amount of water to develop their eggs into adult mosquitoes. Elimination of potential mosquito breeding habitats is a critical key to mosquito control.
Flea
There are numerous ways to deal with the problem of flea infestations. Elimination of fleas on household pets will be important in preventing the production of eggs that fall onto carpeted areas in your home or business. If an infestation is occurring due to breeding and larvae on the interior it generally is controlled with an application of a residual product, preferably with the addition of an insect growth regulator as well.
German Roaches
German Roaches are the number 1 most despised insect in the home and business.
Wondering how to get rid of German cockroaches? The best advice for German cockroach control is to practice good sanitation. To prevent German cockroaches from infesting a home or business, people should maintain a clean kitchen by cleaning up crumbs, wiping spills and vacuuming often. Avoid leaving dishes pile up in the sink. It is also important to seal all entrances to the structure, especially around utility pipes, and ventilate crawl spaces to prevent moisture buildup. The German Cockroach will multiply fast with out the proper treatment from a Pest professional. German cockroaches can breed at a rate of up to six generations per year.
Termites
Termites abound in the soil wherever there is wood. Most yards, especially those in older, established neighborhoods, support termites. While termites are more abundant in some locations, chances are good that your yard has termites. Finding termites in a fence or woodpile, or in landscape timbers, does not necessarily mean that your home needs to be treated, but it should alert you to the presence of termites around your home.
American Cockroach
The American cockroach is the largest of the house-infesting roaches and a major pest in the United States. It’s also commonly known as the water bug, the Bombay canary or the palmetto bug. Despite its name, the American cockroach is not native to North America. The American cockroach gain entry into households by going under doors and through gaps beneath siding, as well as following pipes, sewers and drains into a structure.
Spiders
Spiders provide a form of natural pest control by catching insects in their webs. However, that doesn't mean they have an open invitation to come into our homes. A spider infestation can cause contamination of food in kitchens or pantries, and depending on the species, there could be health risks if family members unexpectedly happen upon a web or lurking spider. Taking action to prevent spiders goes a long way in avoiding these risks. Most spiders seek out secluded, undisturbed areas where they can build a web to catch their next meal, so an attic or basement that has been left unused over the past season could be harboring these pests out of sight.
Scorpions
Scorpions are a common pest found in the southwest. They prefer areas that are low to the ground in cracks and crevices around structures. Scorpions are mostly nocturnal and will make their way into shoes and other items left outdoors over night. If you see scorpions around your home, call the pest professionals at B&R Pest Services. Scorpions fall under our Quarterly or Bi Monthly Service plans. After the initial treatment, we’ll return 4 or 6 times a year to maintain a pest-free perimeter around your home.
Silverfish
Silverfish can do a lot of damage to property due to their feeding habits. These pests often are found by homeowners in sinks or tubs when they are unable to climb out. Growing to a length of 1/2" to 3/4" long, they are fragile insects with two long antennae, almost as long as their bodies and the distinctive three appendages (that look like antennae) at the rear. They are typically a pearly-grey to light charcoal color (hence their name). Cleanliness is not really a factor in silverfish infestation because they can live in insulation, books, between walls, old paper products, and some fabrics. After controlling problem infestations, reducing damp areas within the home will help prevent their return.
Centipedes
These pests often hide out under piles of wood, in leaf lumps, in crevices around fence posts, in the cracks of stone walls and other similar spots. Centipedes prey on many pests, such as cockroaches, flies and beetle larvae. They aren't normally a problem for people and pets, though they are venomous, and the larger ones can deliver a painful but not dangerous bite when handled.
Wild Life Control
If you encounter a wild life hazard, small or large, the last thing you should try is to exterminate it yourself. The best decision is to call a B & R Pest Service professional. B & R has highly trained professionals who can handle wild life both small and large. When we encounter wild life outside or inside a property, we do a thorough inspection from ground to roof for removal and remedies for future prevention.
Rodents
Rats and mice can impact both residential and commercial properties. B & R Pest Control Services strive to stay current with all of the new rodent devices and products to ensure that our customers receive the best rodent programs to keep their homes and buildings rodent free. Based upon the very fast rate that rodent populations can develop, it is very easy to figure out that just a few mice can create a severe rodent infestation in not that much time.
Bee and Wasp Control
Identifying the differences between the European Honey Bee and the extremely aggressive Africanized Honey Bee can be a challenge. The Solitary Wasp, Mud Dauber, aggressive Hornets or Yellow Jackets can be difficult as well. Why take a chance with your health or well-being, putting yourself in a potential dangerous situation trying to control these pests without the proper equipment, products or knowledge of each pest your trying to control. From void treatments with residual products to treatments of active swarms, our service technicians can safely treat existing infestations in your home or business. After the initial treatment the areas of infestation may require additional attention which will be explained by the service technician. This may include sealing up the cracks, crevices or voids in the area(s) of activity.
